The 10 Best Photographers in Portland (2026)
Portland has a busy, varied photography scene—from small portrait studios to larger commercial shops—and local review data helps cut through the choices. This list ranks the top photographers in and around Portland using Google review scores adjusted by review volume (a Bayesian-style weighting that favors both high ratings and substantial feedback). The ranking was updated for 2026 and reflects the most recent publicly available Google ratings and review counts. Use it as a starting point when you need portraits, headshots, or studio time and want businesses that consistently earn excellent marks from clients.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Kitta Bodmer Photography
Kitta Bodmer Photography tops our list because it combines a perfect 5.0 Google rating with an unusually large review base—881 reviews—giving strong statistical weight to its score. Listed in Google as a “Photographer” and located on SW Buena Vista Drive, its review volume sets it apart from competitors that also have 5.0 averages but far fewer reviews. That mix of rating and review count is why it emerges as our number one pick in 2026.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose the right photographer for my session?
Start by matching the photographer’s portfolio and Google-listed category to the style you want—portrait, headshot, boudoir, or studio work. Read recent reviews for comments about punctuality, communication, and final deliverables, and ask to see examples from shoots similar to yours before booking.
What should I check before hiring a photographer?
Confirm what the fee includes (shoot time, number of edited images, usage rights, and any print or digital delivery). Also verify scheduling flexibility, turnaround time, and cancellation or rescheduling policies in writing.
How much do photography sessions typically cost in Portland?
Prices vary widely depending on experience, session length, location fees, and deliverables such as prints or commercial usage rights. Request detailed quotes from multiple photographers and compare what each package includes rather than just the headline price.
How was this ranking of photographers built?
The list is based on Google review ratings adjusted by review count using a Bayesian-style weighting so that a high average with many reviews ranks higher than an identical average with few reviews. The data reflect publicly available Google ratings and review counts updated for 2026.
