The 5 Best Comedy Clubs in Portland (2026)
Portland’s stand-up and improv scene runs through neighborhood halls and small theaters across the city. For this list we used Google reviews, updated in 2026, and ranked venues by a Bayesian-style score that balances average rating with the number of reviews so places with a lot of feedback don’t drown out newer favorites. The result highlights clubs that attract consistent audience response across Portland’s diverse neighborhoods. Whether you like intimate rooms or bigger billed shows, this ranking is meant to point you toward reliably reviewed local options and help you decide where to check next.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose which comedy club to visit?
Look at recent Google reviews and review counts to gauge consistent audience experiences, and check the venue’s schedule to match the type of show you want (stand-up, improv, open mic). Consider location, accessibility, and whether the room size suits the kind of atmosphere you prefer.
What does it typically cost to attend a comedy show?
Ticket prices vary by performer, venue size, and whether the show is a special engagement or a regular lineup. Expect a range of pricing and check the venue’s website or box office for exact ticket fees and any age or seating policies before you go.
What should I verify before hiring a comedy club for a private event?
Confirm availability, capacity, technical support (sound and lighting), and any fees or minimums the venue requires for private bookings. Ask about insurance, cancellation policies, and whether the club can recommend local talent or handle promotion if that’s needed.
How exactly is this ranking built?
This list is derived from Google review data updated in 2026 and uses a Bayesian-style weighting that combines average rating with the number of reviews so both score and review volume factor into placement. The method helps balance highly rated places with few reviews against well-reviewed venues with larger audiences.
