Frequently asked questions
How were these rankings determined?
The list is built from Google review data and updated for 2026. We use a weighted approach that favors higher average ratings and gives more weight to businesses with more reviews (a Bayesian-style weighting), so shops with many high scores rank higher than those with a small sample.
What should I consider when choosing a furniture store in Portland?
Think about style, materials, and delivery options in addition to price. Check a store’s return policy, whether items are in stock or made to order, and read recent reviews for comments about quality and service before you commit.
How much should I expect to spend on furniture in Portland?
Prices vary widely depending on whether items are new, used, custom, or mass-produced. Set a budget for each piece, compare similar items across stores, and factor in delivery or assembly fees to get a realistic total cost.
What should I check before buying and scheduling delivery?
Measure your space carefully, note doorways and stair clearance, and confirm delivery windows and fees. Inspect items on arrival for damage and keep receipts and warranty information in case you need returns or repairs.
